Hawkeye, Kirkwood & Other Community Colleges

 

Kirkwood College General Online Scholarship application   Opens up October 1st.  March 15th deadline. Late Deadline is July 15.

Kirkwood Presidential and Leaders For Tomorrow scholarships    Deadline is about March 1.  In past years, student needed GPA of 3.50 and ACT of 25 for Presidential and a GPA of 3.00 for Leaders for Tomorrow. Specific GPA and ACT Scores not listed for 2020-21 year. Leadership, Volunteer work, Goals, GPA, etc.  Based on  Presidential is worth $5500 and Leaders for Tomorrow is worth $3500. Application online.

HAWKEYE COLLEGE

Hawkeye Early Admission Scholarship   Apply for Admission by May 1st. No Scholarship application required.  Students do not need to complete the General Scholarship application in order to be eligible to receive the Early Admissions Scholarship.      $500: High school GPA of 3.40–4:00 - Awarded both semesters for two years (must be enrolled for 12 credits &  maintain 2.70 GPA)

     $375: High school GPA of 3.00– 3.39 -Awarded both semesters for two years (must be enrolled for 12 credits &  maintain 2.70 GPA)

Hawkeye Student Life Scholarship   - Deadline is March 1st, as you must complete the Hawkeye Foundation Scholarship application to apply for this Student Life Scholarship.  Participates in Student Life activities including Health Education and Services Center activities. Has completed 12 Hawkeye College credits. Has a GPA of 2.50. Write a short essay on "describing how you are involved on campus as well as in the community." and email it to Student Life at studact@hawkeyecollege.edu.

Hawkeye Scholarship for Success.    Apply for Admission.  No Scholarship application required.

        $250: High school GPA of 3.00  - Awarded both semesters for two years (must be enrolled for 12 credits &  maintain 2.70 GPA)

        Must be enrolled in an eligible College Major - Accounting, Admin. Office Mgmt, Animal Science, Digital Mass Media, Early Childhood Education, Graphic Design, Hospitality Mgmt, Human Resources Mgmt, Information Systems Mgmt, Landscape and Turf Mgmt, Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist, Natural Resources Mgmt, Professional Photography

Future Ready Last Dollar Scholarship.    Apply for Admission.      Deadline is July 1.   This is handled through Hawkeye Admissions and student does not need to apply for it.  It is automatic, based on your College Major listed here.

The Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship is intended to cover tuition for students in programs that lead to high-demand jobs in Iowa. Hawkeye College and all Community Colleges in Iowa offer this. Pays up to 100% of tuition.  This is not available for Pre-programs, such as Pre-Nursing.  Student must be accepted into the Major Program to qualify for this.  Student must complete the FAFSA Financial Aid form and apply to their Community college. If you already receive full tuition through federal or state grants such as the PELL Grant, and meet eligibility requirements, you will receive $250. So the amount can vary.
       Must be planning to enroll in one of these high-demand majors:  Agricultural Power Technology, Automotive Tech, Civil & Construction Tech, CNC Machining, Computer Languages, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Diesel Truck Tech, Electronics Eng. Tech, Emergency Medical Services, Heating and Air Conditioning, Medical Lab Tech, Network Admin, Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Police Science, Respiratory Care, Sustainable Construction, Web Programming, Welding Technology.   Information at:  Last Dollar Scholarship (Iowa)
 
 Hawkeye Inclusion Scholarship      -  Deadline is May 31   Hawkeye is committed to creating a culture where everyone is respected, appreciated, and valued.  As part of this commitment, the Inclusion Scholarship provides up to $1000 per year and opportunities for students to collaborate with peers to make valuable contributions that promote an inclusive campus climate.
