Student Food Drive

Locally, the Student Food Drive (SFD) is an effort conducted by area high schools to collect and donate food to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. The purpose of the drive is multifaceted. In addition to collecting food and funds for those in need, the Drive:

  • Gives students a chance to help their school and other groups in the community
  • Promotes volunteerism and community involvement
  • Gives students the opportunity to develop organizational skills – a “real life” example of  how to work as a team

1.2lb = 1 meal
$1 = 4 meals

Feed My Starving Children

As a Christian nonprofit organization, Feed My Starving Children is called to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit.  Each 13.2-ounce package of fortified rice and soy blend can feed six people.  This helps feed people from around the world, including Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Liberia, the Philippines and Nicaragua.  Westminster Presbyterian church has held a MobilePack event for Feed My Starving Children for many years.
