Trap Shooting Team

Sign up now in the school office. Trap starts in April

The Bosco Catholic School System Trap Shooting Team is open to students in grades 6-12 (male or female). Everyone gets to shoot at all practices and in any meet they attend. Students are required to have a minimum number of targets shot at during the year to participate in the state trap meet, but they do not have to have a minimum score, only to have shot enough targets. All high school students can be eligible for the state tournament.

The team is officially a Bosco System team; however, financial support comes from sponsors, grants, and outside sources. Additional support is provided by the Izaak Walton League and is considered their home field.

The first practice includes a safety meeting. The shooter, along with one parent, are required to attend this meeting.

An annual team fundraiser is held in the spring.  Last year's event was held at Pizza Ranch in Waterloo and 7% of all sales and tips were donated to the team by Pizza Ranch.

Head Coaches are Gene Schwickerath and Beth Phillips. They will be assisted by Arnold Schares and Darell Phillips.

Trap shooting is the fastest growing high school sport in the country and it is documented to have the least amount of injuries.
