Don Bosco HS has worked through Hawkeye College for many years in setting up Job Shadows for students that wish to register for one.  Typically it has been the Junior Class that we would register for a Job Shadow (which is not required of a student to do one). But since this year's Senior Class did not get that opportunity, this  Job Shadow opportunity is available for both Juniors and Seniors.

 

I have attached the step-by-step process to register for a Job Shadow.  Kelly Kobliska, of Hawkeye College,  sets up the Job Shadows for the students.  When the student registers for a Job Shadow, an email link is sent to the Parent to approve the Job Shadow.  And I as the School Guidance Counselor also must approve it.  The Registration and Approvals must all be completed by October 1st.  Usually, all Job Shadows are completed by about mid-December.  Most Job Shadows are 1/2 day in length.  A Job Shadow is an excused absence at Don Bosco HS

   -  There may be extra papers required for those requesting Job Shadows in the Law Enforcement field.

   -  There are extra papers required for those requesting Job Shadows in the Health Care Fields.  And Kelly is still not sure if there will be COVID restrictions on these Job Shadows.
