Dear Don Bosco Baseball Supporter:

We have some exciting news! At the August 8, 2023 Board of Education and Foundation meetings, the baseball program was given permission to move forward with a major renovation to the high school baseball field. The purpose of this renovation is to address safety issues and make some aesthetic improvements that reflect the championship caliber of the program.

This renovation will be done in three phases beginning this fall. We will address the safety issues first and the aesthetic components later, as fundraising allows. Some items that will be addressed include:

  • A new backstop with a poured concrete wall, higher post, netting instead of fencing, running from dugout to dugout
  • A new laser-leveled infield with new sod
  • Warning track surface
  • Irrigation
  • New, state of the art scoreboard with signage celebrating our successes
  • Poured concrete area behind backstop for lawn chair seating
  • Turfed batting cages

There are several other items on this list.

Obviously, a project of this magnitude will be expensive and we have already received multiple monetary and in-kind donations from people excited about the project. However, we will not be able to complete everything on the list without the generous financial support of our Future Dons, former players, baseball families, and previous supporters. We are asking for your monetary support to see this once in a generation project completed. Once completed, the Don Bosco field will not only be one of the safest fields in the state, but
also one of the nicest. With this vision in mind, we are asking you to consider one of these levels:

LEVEL AMOUNT
All Star

$10,000 and up

Grand Slam $5,000-$9,999
Home Run $1,000-$4,999
Triple $500-$999
Double $250-$499
Single $100-$249

While all gifts are needed and appreciated, gifts at the levels listed above will be honored on a donor wall at the field. We also want to extend the opportunity for pooled donations. Any donation from an individual or group of $1,000 or more can be recognized with all family members listed. We hope this allows families who want to make a large impact to pool their gift and be recognized as a group. You may also use this opportunity to memorialize a loved one. Also, we realize that some will want to give more but may not have the entire amount they want to donate on hand. This project is being done in three phases- Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Fall of 2024, with the permanent donation Board going up upon completion. We will have the names of individuals, families, and businesses that have donated listed on social media and on a temporary board hung at the diamond and the final amount you donate will be the one on the permanent board of recognition.

John Deere Workers - please remember the Power for Good Program! You can double your donation using this link.

Again, this is a once in a generation project! We are upgrading the field not only for current Dons, but Dons for the next several decades! We appreciate your consideration and anything that you can give will be tremendously appreciated.

Thank You!

Sincerely,
Baseball Renovation Committee
