What does the Booster Club do?

The Booster Club is a fundraising and activity organizing body for Bosco System Catholic Schools, subject to the policies and regulations through the Archdiocesan Board of Education, the Archdiocesan Office of Education, and the Bosco Catholic School System Board of Education.

The Bosco System Booster Club By-Laws outline the nature and function of the Booster Club. See link at the top of this page.

The club provides financial assistance to the athletic and extra-curricular activity programs for Bosco Catholic School System. Financial support is generated through various activities and events including, but not limited to: merchandise and apparel sales; concessions; and various projects.

The club consists of the following five committees: concessions, merchandise, fundraising, finance, and advertising.

The Booster Club promotes high standards of sportsmanship and equal opportunity to all students to participate in athletic and extra-curricular activities. The club is responsible for long-term planning, goal setting, and implementation of programs and policies to ensure that coaches and students who participate in extra-curricular activities throughout the school system have appropriate funding to allow them to compete and participate at a competitive level. Without the efforts of the Booster Club, many of the wants and needs for these programs would not be available. The goal of the Booster Club is to support these programs and generate the necessary funds.

Booster Club Requests
To make a request for your sport or program, please contact the Booster Club President with your request by October 1st for the following year. All requests must be submitted in writing with complete details and costs associated with the request. The Booster Club officers, along with the Athletic Directors and school administration, meet each year in October to review all requests when budgeting for the next school year. The Booster Club outlines a plan for the year that identifies all fundraising opportunities and the list of projects to be implemented by the Booster Club for the upcoming year. This outline is presented to the Board of Education in November for approval.

When large projects are requested throughout the year, the Booster Club will listen to the request. However, at this point in time funds have already been allotted for the pre-determined projects approved at the October meeting and presented/approved by the Board of Education in November. In some cases, these requests may have to be tabled until the following year, so it is best to plan ahead. The Booster Club is responsible for long-term planning, goal setting, and implementation of programs and policies for ALL extra-curricular activities for the entire school system. In order to ensure the club has sufficient funds to be able to provide these items it is necessary to plan ahead and set the budget for the year. Without doing so, it would be difficult to be efficient and effective.

Thank you for your understanding and your support of all Booster Club projects and events!

Merchandise and Apparel
The Booster Club sells merchandise throughout the year such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts, bleacher seats, blankets, bags, etc. Look for order forms at the beginning of each sports season. Order forms will be available online and in the school office. Sport-specific merchandise is available through prepaid orders only. This allows the club to control costs and maintain profitability for the Booster Club. Other items may be available for sale throughout the year. If you would like to volunteer to help with merchandise sales, please contact the Booster Club Officers.

Volunteer Opportunities
Please help the Booster Club support our students and their programs by volunteering to help with gym clean up after home events, selling merchandise, working at tournaments, or any other events throughout the year. These projects require many volunteers to ensure success.

Advertising Opportunities
Sports Programs: businesses have the opportunity to support our students through advertising in the fall and winter sports programs. These programs are distributed at each home event. These programs include the team rosters for the event. Ads are sold from May through July for the upcoming school year's programs.

Signs on the Ball Diamonds: businesses have the opportunity to support our students through advertising on the ball diamond fences. These signs are up around the ball diamond fences throughout spring, summer, and fall.

Your advertising support through these projects helps the Booster Club provide financial assistance to our students for various extra-curricular activities.

For more information on advertising in the fall and winter sports programs or the signs on the ball diamond fences, please contact the Booster Club President.
