FAFSA - FInancial Aid Form and Iowa Financial Aid Form

 

FAFSA

The FAFSA Financial Aid Form should be completed in order to receive Federal Financial Aid, such as PELL Grants, Student Loans, and Work Study.

Parents & Students can make appointments with ICAN (Iowa College Access Network for help in completing the FAFSA application. 

  • A typical FAFSA appointment takes 30-45 minutes and is FREE.

  • Schedule an appointment online or by calling the Waterloo office at (877) 272-4692.
 

The FAFSA opens up online on October 1st. It is advised that you complete the FAFSA by end of December since most Colleges create their Financial Award letters/packages by March. If you file later than July, you may not receive some Financial Aid such as Work Study. Each school has its own priority deadline, which is Decemeber 1 for the University of Iowa and Iowa State and January 15 for UNI.

 

IOWA COLLEGE AID 

Students should also complete the Iowa College Aid application which only has about 6 questions to answer. Students can apply for the following programs through the Iowa Financial Aid Application process:

  • All Iowa Opportunity Scholarship (AIOS)
  • Iowa National Guard Education Assistance Program (NGEAP)
  • All Iowa Opportunity Foster Care Grant (FCG)
  • Education Training Voucher (ETV)
  • Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
  • Terry E. Branstad Iowa State Fair Scholarship
